Becky’s story of loss became a journey of rediscovery
“My motivation was me!” Becky reflected after her session with us. “After the sudden loss of my husband I began a whole new journey to learn to love myself again. I started working out and being more aware of the food I’ve been consuming. I was motivated to become a better version of myself for me and my two young boys.”
The loss of a loved one is an unbearable burden, and she doesn’t talk about it beyond the simple acknowledgement of the fact that it’s a part of her fabric now. And she’s trying to make the best of herself and her future with her sons.
So with all respect, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
Becky’s preoccupation on the day of her session with us: “I was honestly thinking if I had brought enough clothing items or if maybe I brought too much :)”
“I was filled with excitement though, as I was starting the day exactly the same as 10 years prior – as I scheduled my shoot on what would have been my 10-year wedding anniversary.”
Okay, there’s that. Still, it wasn’t discussed. We dug into her present endeavors. Becky had shown up with options — and no, she didn’t bring too many choices — and lots of energy. We knew the day would be fun.
“I wasn’t nervous at all – everyone was so inviting and warm – I was ready for makeup and hair!” she said. “Hair and makeup was awesome! I felt so pretty. Had great conversations and the bubbly was a nice touch too! I was so ready! I’m full of personality, and even though it was my first time I was anxious to get started. Jill and David are so much fun. They made the whole experience.”
We played with a variety of outfits in the sets around our studio, never lingering long in a particular look. Before we all knew it, we’d gone through everything we’d envisioned. We gave Becky warm hugs and sent her on her way with plans for a reveal and ordering appointment within a few days.

The day went by so quick,” she said. “So many fun poses and outfits! On the way home I still had a smile on my face, and was thinking, ‘Wow, that was great!’ It was what I imagined, only 10X more fun.”
Reveal time!
Some clients show up for their reveal nervous about what they’d see. Becky was raring to go. Even so, she still wasn’t prepared for what we showed her.
“I couldn’t believe how many great photos there were! I’m a blinker, especially with cameras, and they still captured so many sexy, romantic photos. I finally got to see what others had told me, but I didn’t believe. It was amazing – I look so great, and I’m thrilled to say those words.”
